Established in 2001 and named in honor of celebrated local artist and sailor Barry Brown, the studio has been a vital part of Corpus Christi's artistic community for over two decades. This non-profit volunteer-run studio welcomes clay artists, painters and mixed-media makers to enjoy our community oriented space. The studio serves as a creative hub for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in the Coastal Bend.

Wheel Room

Enjoy 8 electric wheels, a kick wheel and more in our beautiful light-filled studio space. We provide clay storage for our members and ample drying shelves for work in progress. New to ceramics? The Studio has everything to get you started from tools to supplies!

Kiln Room

The Studio features 3 electric kilns with varying sizes provides flexibility in firing. In addition to the electric kilns, we have 2 Raku kilns! Our kiln technicians ensure your work is properly loaded and fired.

Hand Building Space

Get creative in our spacious, light-filled studio space. Access to a wedging tables, slab roller and 3 extruders plus a multitude of slump molds, textures, shapes, lettering and more! Want to take your hand building to the next level? Ask one of our experts for advice!

Slab Roller & Extruders

The slab rollers and extruders provide members a wide range of hand building projects from coil-built pots using the extruder or complex construction using slabs.

Glaze Room

Not only do you have access to a variety of studio glazes, but you also have the opportunity to work with glaze experts to create your own custom surface decoration. No experience in glazing? No problem! Members of the studio are here to help guide your creative journey.
